Hi
Can anyone advise as to how I remove my late husband's name from the deeds of a co-owned property. Do I need to do anything?

Many thanks

Why do you want to remove his name,he has passed away, not like a divorce where you might want to do that.
I see you are in Scotland ,does one has to do this there?
I'm not sure if it's different in Scotland, but in England you could just send a copy of the death cert to the Land Registry so they can update the records. Assuming it's a registered title you don't need to get the paper deeds changed since it's just the electronic record that counts. In fact you may not even need to do this assuming the deeds were on a joint tenancy basis

Hi
I don't really want to remove his name. This is a second property which we rent out. I just need to know how I stand legally as my husband was the joint registered Landlord. What would happen if I chose to sell the property? Many thanks.
As you husband is deceased,I would not predict any problems.
sorry..."your"husband
You just give a copy of the death certificate to the solicitor, with the Deeds, when/if you decide to sell.
