"A debtor's last crime arises,when something's clarified about it - he's been warned." 9 letters - I have G-R-I-H--. Any ideas? I assume it has "gee" around the middle section but that doesn't help! Also, I know I could go and buy today's paper but I want to finish it first!

It would have helped if I could spell "ghee"! I was trying to fit "thief" in backwards. Great help thanks.
If you go to the crosswords page of their site http://www.theguardian.com/crosswords and click on the Standard version for the current day's crossword then Cheat [answer to a single clue once you've click on one of its squares in the grid] and Solution [answers to all clues] are available - this page updates to the latest crossword every day. You can also fill in the answers there if you want so that it's not necessary to buy the paper just for the crossword.

Thanks for that tip, I shall do that. I don't mind cheating on one clue - it doesn't feel quite such a cop out.
