Anyone put off flying now with recent air disasters and missing planes? I know I have been

Your fear is irrational. The attached is a snapshot of aircraft over the UK about 10 mins ago. 3 plane crashes (one of which was due to a missile, so should be discounted) among millions of flights does not indicate that it is unsafe.

No. You are still safer in a plane in percentage terms than you are being in a car on a motorway, or crossing a main road on foot. Thousands of planes fly without anything happening to them.

By far and away the most hazardous part of any journey by air is the trip to the airport, especially if you travel there by car.

not at all ........ we've all got to go sometime, enjoy it while you can. In the past week I have booked flight to Thailand in February and flight to New York in May, bring it on!!

The latest news stories do not put me off. It is the hanging around in airports at some ungodly hour of the night hoping the coach is waiting and easily found at the other end, and the accommodation is ok, that puts me off.

Remember being on a flight to Spain when on landing, the pilot said "Well, that is the safest part of your journey over, so try not to kill yourselves on the way to your hotels!"
