"In 2011, the child's primary school referred her to social services because of concern about her welfare.

She moved schools and her new teachers noticed the girl complained about not getting breakfast and was gorging herself at lunchtime"

So, yet again a child is severely maltreated and the school stands by and does nothing. After Daniel Pelka, you would have thought Schools would be more proactive but not in case it would seem.

Alas,we will continue to hear more cases like this.Unbelievable isn't it?
They referred her to the SS. What else do you want them to do?
I doubt the teacher didn't inform the new school but it doesn't say how long she'd been moved school before she collapsed.
the mum knew ?

> They said the woman told her daughter she would get fed every day and be given "pudding and custard" if she did not tell anybody what was going on.
I noticed that Dr F

so she knew her child was not being fed.....

As a behaviour pattern not unheard of - singling out one child for abuse. The other children keep their heads down and just think in a moment it will be my turn....
Excuse me but the school is not the parent here. AND they did report it to social services so I think your bias against the school is unfounded.

Perhpas w soial services that you should be directing your ire.

The only thing the school can do is report it (which th ) and wherever they can, feed the child. Which by the article they did because the child gorged herself at lunch times.
