Hi, 3 weeks ago my Son applied for an apprenticeship job at a Joinery and Carpentry company, The boss told my Son he could do a weeks training which he would not get paid for then it was up to my Son if he wanted to carry on full time, My Son did his 1st week of training last week, so today was the begining of his 2nd week (which counts as his 1st proper week of working) my Son came home today to tell me that his boss has now said that he will not be getting paid for this week either as he hasnt really had much work to do (mostly helping out when he is needed or basically standing watching) which is obviously part of training, he has also been told he will get paid monthly (which isnt a problem to my Son) and was told his pay day will be 26th May. Now my Son is going in every day from 9 till 5 so i really think he should be getting paid for this as he is still there, and the boss shouldnt have told my Son to start there if he new there wasnt much work on, by the way my Son is 17 years old. Any advice you can give me i will be very grateful for,, what would you do in this situation? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Yep.
Of course it's very wrong and if this is the way this unethical employer is treating your son already only god knows how he will be in a few weeks. Tell your son to leave straight away and go to CAB for advice.

Most importantly he needs to leave right away
