Does anyone else get annoyed by little traits of their work colleagues?, When I'm at work out the corner of my eye all I can see is the bloke I work with shaking his leg under his desk, and I mean constantly as if he's got a twitch. Its so annoying.

Ugh, i work 12 hour days, so am stuck in a small room with same people for hours. One guy in particular annoys me because he types SO HARD on his keyboard! This other guy says "man" every 2 words, and litterally squirts water into his mouth from his water bottle!!

I have to say I am quite surprisesd at the number of petty, irrelevant things - that are really none of your business - that some of you get so furious about!

leg wiggling? don't look! it isn't loud so you really have no reason to take any interest in it at all.

if something is loud and noisy, fine, it can be annoying, but if it merely makes a sound, like the pen and typing, you really can't stop anyone doing these things so just ignore it!

a phone call will be missed if you don't answer...it could be important...you can be asked to wait a few minutes - you are in the same building all day and every day , i'm sure your conversation can wait 5 minutes! surely the cusomers are more important!

i realise some things mentioned are just rudeness, like the photocopier incident, but you cannot control other people so why expect them to change their little ways for you?
but seriously everyone - just relax and don't sweat the small stuff - life is too short and there are much worse things in the world!

Joko - i think you are mis-reading some of these posts. We are simply letting off a little steam! There's no personal attacks here, and i personally would never dream of confronting or even complaining about my 'pet hates' at work! this is just a light-hearted b1tch. Don't take it so seriously, man!!

Well done all of you I'm sure that helped you all let off steam apart from joko, you seemed to be getting wound up at people getting wound up :-) strange that. Wooossssaaaaaaaaaaa. :-)

Silly, but my collegue eats two yoghurts every day, and the way he eats them really makes me want to leave the room.

He gobbles them down in about five seconds, but then spends at least 20 seconds scraping every little bit out of every corner.

There's a woman I work with who really winds me up. She's always doing a running commentary with her work and moans over and over again when her computer goes slow or the printer doesn't do what she wants it to do. She always comments against stuff we're talking about and stating the obvious, like someone just said it's really grey outside, I remarked that I know and the forecast said it was going to be sunny all day and she said, well it's not. Aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrr I know that I was only saying what I'd heard!!! And one last point is that the manner of her voice when she's on the phone to our members (I think) sounds damn right rude.

I have to control myself when she starts talking cause I will end up having a row with her. Anyway rant over. I'm so glad you posted this 4getmenot, I feel like a weight has been lifted (until she next opens her mouth!!!!)

I was laughing to myself in recognition of all these traits (of other people of course!!) and in my office, there is a gilr who stand there while you are talking to her and she picks her spots or any bit of dry skin she can find, Agh.

The whistler (seems to be a male trait) lives in this office aswell, and he never seems to whistle anything recognisable, just a low awful sound.

And what about the people who walk along the corridor as if they are auditioning for a spy film? They give me the creeps when I see them slinking around the place.

Oh it's good to share!! Thanks for the laughs!!

The guy who sits diagionally opposite me always has the smellest crisps and food and eats his crisps in about 10 seconds flat... He also says "yourself" instead of just "you" and "myself" instead of just "my"

The guy next to me is always checking his pits for sweat but thinks no one notices!

One guy who used to work here would always say "Hmmm, interesting" when it was obvious it was because he didn't have a clue, no ownder he didn't last long!

Mine is this:

1.)Kick my pedestal/drawers in a steady, fast 4/4 rhythm...

2.)Wait til a few people have started looking round to see what I'm doing.

3.)Augment the rhythm by banging a pen on my mug.

4.)Start going "DER! DER-NER-NER-NER! DER! DER-NER-NER-NER-NER-NER-NER-NEH!"

5.)Basically, start singing "Blue Orchid" by The White Stripes uite

ahem, by The White Stripes quite loudly.

Quite annoying, I'm told, almost as annoying as accidentally submitting an answer before you've finished typing it.

Can't believe no one's mentioned "the nose picker". He sits opposite me and picks his nose when he's concentrating on his work. The rest of us look at each other and try to pluck up the courage to say something. Gets a bit worrying when you offer a bag of sweets around the section and he plunges his hand in!

I hate: people who say "why wasn't I told about/shown/trained in that?" when they actually were. Noisy slurping of tea/coffee or any other noisy drinking or eating. People who bitch on the phone to their friends, and the friends also happen to be my boss. Obsessive/compulsive paranoid co-workers who automatically assume the worst about every other member of staff's intentions. I, of course, am practically perfect in every way!

excellent! really enjoyed reading this!! i worked somewhere and the one of the girls was just too nice to me. even though id been there a number of weeks she kept explaining the work to me over and over each day when i had been doing it for ages!! poor girl was only trying to be nice though and she was lovely!!

also dont you hate it when you start work somewhere new and everyone there has one or two particular words they use all the time? where i worked previously everything that someone didnt like was just hideous and everyones name was hun. grrrrr!!! xx
