Apparently both the Mersey Tunnels are shut tomorrow (28th). Does anybody know if this is true, why and how long for? Thanx

I've no idea, but it might have something to do a national strike?

oops, I meant 'to do with a national strike' and if so, it will probably only be for the one day

on the local news before. it's both tunnels for 24 hours as well as the ferries. i think i heard or read that the mersey rail loop is out of action due to repairs so that effectively cuts the wirral off from liverpool. i would start queing now for the runcorn widnes bridge.

Both tunnels close @ 11:30pm tonight until 12:30am Wednesday.
