Is the Sure SM-57 a decent mic? I'm wanting a mic to record a nylon strung acoustic guitar. Can it be plugged directly into the pc's jack socket? Are there any better mics for around the same price? Thanks

The Shure SM57 has a pretty similar (though slightly different) cardiod pattern to a SM58 and would be suitable for the purpose you require....for a discussion on mics and some links try this question question 35780
