Why is my previously quite straight hair now wavy/curly? I haven't had a perm. I am 41 and not on any medication. This happened when I grew it again about 8 yrs ago. I had my babies when I was 27 yrs and 29 and a half yrs. I am a pale skinned mousey blonde. Could it be a hormone thing?

Don't know the reason, but it happened to me to. I had quite straight hair that went wavy/curly about menopause time and also got thicker!! I did have wavy hair as a very little child.

I had poker straight hair until I had the kids and when I started to grow it longer it went all ringlettyCouldnt believe it.I like it though.Must be hormonal.Strange.
The same thing happened to me - from dead straight, shiny hair, to proper ringlets! I was about 14, so maybe it is hormonal, though mother thinks it's because I had layers cut in (I had bob length hair as a child and it was still straight so I don't think this entirely explains it). Funniest thing was I didn't really get it so kept trying to brush my hair, I just ended up in a frizzy ball...
