Hundreds upon hundreds of stars never come under suspicion, there's probably a reason for that.

Freddie Starr I thought looked very unwell on this evenings news, not surprising really
By your words Noodlearms, you are condemning all of us then aren't you ?
After all, who knows what I or you for that matter, might have done or didn't do in the past...we might be guilty anyway. Neither of us really know the ins and outs of the Starr affair, nor are we ever going to know.

But as long as there is a little bit of suspicion, people like you will condemn anyway.

I still maintain that his name should never have been brought into the public domain until he was charged with an offence. He's damned if he did and just as damned if he didn't.

Its a trial by public opinion and its disgraceful.
He's been unwell for a very long time, long before these allegations were made, charges threatened and then dropped....
The CPS have got such a "have a go, Joe" mentality over these cases.

If there's even a scrap of half credible evidence, they will throw public money at the case, even though their track record of success is pretty abysmal.

For the CPS to drop this case, they must have decided that the supposed witness evidence was completely and utterly unconvincing, and that there was absolutely nothing on which to base a case against Freddie Starr.

It's time now that he was left in peace.
Your identity, in these circumstances, should be a matter between you, the police, the CPS and, in some circumstances, like European arrest warrants, until such time that a competent authority lays charges. And even then the supposition should be that you are innocent until found guilty. What's so wrong about that?
Noodlearms - ///Sirprize would you let him babysit your kids or grandkids?///

Why would you ask a disgraceful question like that?

Freddie Starr is a broken man right now and why is that? Because he was arrested 19 months ago; bailed eight times and restrictions imposed on him regarding his children. Then you come along and make stupid remarks like that. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Look at this footage of the man today - he's a wreck.

If a girlfriend - or someone I never met - says that in 1972 I did something and makes allegations against me it is right that the claims be investigated.
It can't possibly be right that I am suspected for the rest of my life of being, say, a rapist until such time that evidence and a jury decide that I am guilty of having committed said offence.,
Think that, in the case of Freddie Starr, (with whom I have worked and very strongly dislike) it should be remembered that he has had alcohol and drug problems and that the lengthy period of being under suspicion for these allegations are bound to take their toll. Love the idea that he looks barking because he is somehow guilty. Why bother with courts...you seem to be stringing him up already.
