Today I got a bill from the local authority for Mics care fees that I paid on April 14th. This bill was prepared on April 26th. Yet my bank statement says they paid me back the £160 they took in error. The letter also said they will take steps to get the money if I don't pay within 7 days.

I can't do anything until Tuesday. I am not fretting about it (much) I know it's paid, my bank know it's paid.

What I am wondering about is the local authority said they credited some one else's account instead of Mics. So are they refusing to give the money back?

Tuesday can't come fast enough.

The thing is, as I see it If the account they credited is refusing to give the money back that is not my problem. I paid what we owed. Hassle them not me. They admitted at the time it was their mistake.
If it was their mistake, then they must fix it, why must you jump thru hoops is beyond me !
