Are you saying
///public school educated bankers///
don't go to the Pub then?
I'd better tell the pair that use our local on the seafront they're doing it all wrong!
The persona Farage likes to portray is that of just just an ordinary bloke. Someone you would meet the street or down the pub. This is reinforced by doing a party election broadcast from a pub. Of course bankers frequent pubs, but are not the typical clientel.

Perhaps he will stand against the Speaker again gromit...he thought it was a good idea last time. I seem to remember he got a bloody nose in 2010 though.
Glad you understood my point Gromit.
"Glad you understood my point Gromit"

I still don't get it jomifl, please would you explain (soz, I'm not that bright).
For someone who is head of a 'minor political party' he's garnering a serious amount of attention from the pinko's!

Just what IS their fascination/pre-occupation with him?
Ol, The 'guy down the pub' is the vernacular equivalent of the 'man on the clapham omnibus'.
Having been to a public school and made a pile as a commodity trader and having an offshore trust to avoid paying UK tax suggests that he isn't a 'guy down the pub'.
Baldric, at no time did I say that bankers don't use pubs.

Cd, I suspect the fascination is with his ability to pull the wool over the eyes of a lot of the electorate. But then Tony Blair did the same so nothing new there.

But Tony Blair won three consecutive elections for the Labour Party Farage doesn't even have any MPs....a big difference surely?
Mikey the wool pulling precedes the election victories. I'm saddened that the electorate is so naive and gullible.,
