Did you know that over sixties are not allowed to buy medication for this? I called at the chemists this morning to buy some medication as I have done before.
I was asked how old I was. When I said 71 the assistant said I cannot sell it to you. The laws have been changed. You must make an appointment with your doctor. I said ok three weeks next Tuesday, what am I supposed to do about the pain in the meantime, she told me to buy some cranberry juice! How ridiculous is this, why can over sixties not buy it, anyone know?

Okay Tony since you insist, Walk in centres are meant for emergencies,
It is very difficult to suggest that cystitis is an emergency, therefore to suggest that someone goes to one for something that is NOT an emergency seems frivolous to me and puts the walk in centes in the unenviable position of being the hell-hole centres of people who are not prepared to wait for anything.
To me, these are the same people on eBay who open Paypal cases on the very day they were expecting an eBay delivery, even though they chose a standard Royal Mail delivery as their postal option because it was cheaper.
I have no idea how we came to this.
I answered Caran because I get cystitis. Do you?
Sorry Caran
A&E is for Emergencies, Walk in Centres are for minor ailments when GP surgeries are closed or unavailable.

At least Caran now knows she can get the medication off the shelf.
Caran - I, too, hope you soon feel better ;)

To pee, or not to pee: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The stings and burnings of outrageous urine,
Or to take cranberry juice against a sea of bicarb,
And by opposing end them?
Yes Mama :)
