At this rate, the DM will lose its reputation as the organ of the Tory Party !

Sorry if organ is not quite the appropriate word under the circumstances !
It seems like half of the Tory Party are homosexual.

They had the first gay Prime Minister, so I assume that is nothing new.

I would have thought that you would be the first to support that fact, rather than criticise it?
Gromit, this article would suggest that a gay prime minister is yet to happen.

who were you thinking of, exactly, and do you have any evidence?
Was it Pitt the younger? And was he a Tory?
to be fair aog, he didn't criticise it.
AOG

I have not criticised the fact that half the Conservative Party are Gay.

I would not support it as such because they would be over represented.

Mushroom,

Heath of course.
He was unmarried, that's hardly evidence of homosexuality.
I'm not sure about gay Prime Ministers, but there have certainly been gay Kings, including William II and James I.
This is an old Daily Mail link, but the subject isn't topical...

// Sir Edward Heath might never have had a stint in 10 Downing Street had he not heeded advice to stop 'cottaging' for gay sex.

For he was warned in the 1950s that cruising for homosexual encounters could destroy his political career.

In an internet article for the New Stateman magazine, Mr Coleman claimed that gay men had run the Conservative Party in the capital for years, whether as officials, councillors or volunteers. //

heath never commented on his sexuality. aside from assertions by some, including Peter Tatchell, that heath's sexuality was an "open secret", there's no real evidence whether he was gay, or not.
Gromit...not sure if your suggestion that 50% of the Tory Party may be gay can be true...seems a bit high to me. And Heath may not have been gay. Unless I am misinformed, there is no wide-spread evidence to say that he was. Perhaps he was just shy. He did say that he was jilted many years ago when he was much younger and it may have put him off women for life. I can't remember many women in his Cabinet though, except Mrs Voldemort of course !
mikey don't exepect any sense from the OP, he just wants to bash the Tories, there is no substance.
I always 'knew' TH was gay .
Question Author
None of this is helping the Cons, along with the Marie Miller Story. state of the Polls, UKIP up 4 points to 20%
Tories down 3 points to 29%
Libs down 2 points to 7%
Labour unchanged at35% Farage thinks its Christmas.
Some people are dull.
I'm shocked at the homophobia and Daily Mail quotations from unexpected sources above. Is a politicians sexuality relevant? I'm more interested in their ideals and policies personally.
