There's a Stephen King horror movie (pre-1985) which features a boy/child who had a twin brother died at birth (or whilst very young) who haunts him. In one scene the surviving twin is in hospital and the dead twin appears at the window. I can't remember anything else about it but it scared the hell outta me!!

Thanks so much! From how you describe it I guess must be Salem's Lot. I watched it as a child too (at Halloween) on TV when I shoulda been in bed and it totally freaked me out too! I'd been wondering for years what movie it was! Gonna go get it asap, hoping now I'm an adult it won't freak me out as much! Thanks. PS like your user name - scary teacher from Matilda (great story/movie!)
