The Ed isn't too keen on people mentioned ad blockers around here. (Which is understandable, since its ads that pay for this site!).

However, since you're determined to use one anyway, this is what most people use:
https://adblockplus.org

You need to remember though that ad blockers only work to remove ads within the pages which you want to view anyone. If you're being troubled by additional pop-up ads, you need to get rid of the malware that's creating them, using the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
https://www.malwarebytes.org/free/
(If you've already got that program, run a 'quick' scan with it. It only works when you actually run it; it doesn't work 'in the background' in the way that anti-virus programs do, so you need to run it every so often to get any value from it).
If it is new pages of adds that keep opening I tried loads without success until I used 'Spy Hunter'. Clean as a whistle now!
