Through an e-mail, I've got a porn pop up on my desktop. Have gone into program files and deleted everything except the main .exe program. It will not allow me to delete it or rename it and each time I open up AOL it appears again on my desktop. As a result I can't let kids use pc. How can I delete the undeletable. Help please !!

Start > run > type msconfig > on the startup tab ensure everything bar the registry checker and systemtray (systray) are unchecked. Reboot then try to delete it. Or, boot into safe mode then delete it.
You could probably get rid of it by downloading and installing Ad-aware and/or SpyBot (both free - I got mine from http://www.webattack.com/freeware/security/fwantis
py.html).
I personally find the former more user-friendly. Run it/them, and be amazed at the s*** installed on your system before you delete it all. However, I suspect that j2buttonsw knows a lot more about computers than me! It's well worth installing Ad-aware and/or SpyBot anyway, though.

j2buttonsw - you are a star. -- thanks a million.
No problem (thanks for the feedback). I would definitely follow LeMarchand's advice and get Ad-aware for the future, though.
