Why has it been reduced?
I don't think they can just reduce it like that. Maybe you were mistakenly given too much before?
they need it to pay out the Romas, now that is a disgrace, it would be cheaper to pay them not to come ..........
redvanman. I estimate that you are in your 70's. Why is your pension being reduced by £520 a year ? I can't see any reason why it should be reduced, please explain....grammatically this time.
It's the biggest lie of the century. The ticking time bomb of the state pension crisis is about to explode. The state having taken your money and speant it, has no way of paying state pensions in thee future , without raising taxes beyond what will ruin the economy. Too late for some, but a private pension is the only way now or work until you drop.
@mikey4444 - How dull you are. The grammar police. Zzzzzzzz
SIRandyraven...drivel on both counts ! This chap still hasn't said why he is going to be given £520 less per annum. He has just had a moan without giving any useful information. Unless a mistake has been made in the past, I can't see why it should be happening. If he gives us some info, then perhaps we can help...this is Answer bank after all !

The State Pension will continue to be paid, into the foreseeable future. This isn't a party political issue...even the Tories agree. There is no reason why it shouldn't, provided NICs continue to be paid, and people work and pay taxes, instead of spending their whole lives scrounging on the dole. There are important changes that need to be made, such as raising the state retirement age, but as long as these regular changes are made, the State Pension should be secure.

For a person to have a comfortable life in retirement, an absolute fortune needs to be put into a private pension. Hardly anybody in Britain is saving enough in any pension, other than the State Pension, so the chances of private pensions saving the day is slim to non-existent.

Grammar and spelling ALWAYS matters...it is what makes sense of the what we write. When we all used pen and paper, there might have been an excuse but we all computer literate on AB, otherwise we wouldn't and couldn't be here in the first place. My computer has a spell checker...doesn't everyone ?
why has it been reduced, have you had a letter to say so?
not sure if this is in some way a help, but note the paragraph about the Labour party, we can't keep on blaming the coalition,

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-25233345
from the BBC link above

"Check your dates

The policy of raising the state pension age was initiated by the last Labour government, to reflect rising life expectancy and help curtail the inevitably rising cost of paying state pensions
Emmie...are you suggesting the previous Labour government are responsible for the greater life expectancy in Britain ? People are living much longer than they were, even a generation ago. The raising of the state retirement age is a necessity, otherwise the future funding is in jeopardy. No party denies that changes are needed, just exactly what is needed to be done and when.

Why try to make a party political point out this ?
Emmie ...this is the paragraph following the one that you copied at 11:25 :

"It was initially going to be a long drawn-out process, spread over several decades, but the coalition has accelerated it quite dramatically"
So the poor chap asks a question and your interested in is his correct grammar.
Did not know it was a rule for AB , before you could ask a question.

Can the ed maybe confirm this ?

Maybe that's why AB is so quiet these days , people are nervous to ask questions.
Also have you read your own reply on the pension issue ? You contradict yourself ...lol
What a complete Snag
Snag = t w a t
stop infighting folks and help the OP.....

redvanman - why do you believe your pension is being reduced by £10 a week? Please give us more information.
Boxtops - bully boys don't impress me and mike4444 comments on the op's grammar , is simply bullying in my view.
Bully tactics like this put people off posting
i was referring to the absolute fact that it was Labour who changed the Pension age and not the Tories, Coalition, they weren't in power then.

however because of all the facts that we know and many have known for a long while, people are living longer, and the idea that you can retire what is now considered relatively young at 60 is now not feasible for most

If the Tory/Lib Dems have implemented this much more quickly it's because they have no choice, and Labour has sat on the fact that this would have to happen no matter who runs the country. Labour want to bring it in more slowly, how will that help, if the retirement age, get a pension at XXX age then surely better to know now, so those who are young enough can start planning for it.
how can we help the OP when we don't know exactly how he is losing this money, where is the link, information to say so.

I fully agree with you SIRandyraven. Having your post corrected does put you off. I have had this done to me and it was rather upsetting.
Mick4444 you are given lots of opportunities to air your views on AB and as knowledgeable as you are, you do understand other peoples posts otherwise you would not be able to make your rude comments.
and tell you off that you have posted same subject matter as someone else an hour before, most likely you just didn't notice it. or in a different category.

if Redvanman can tell us what happened, perhaps we can help
