Do you think drivers of convertable cars should wear some protection for their heads? If they are unlucky enough to overturn their cars, they have not protection at all.

No, not realy, convertables do have strengthened A pillars, those are the ones each side of the windscreen.


If the passengers are strapped in properly they should be ok, it is very rare for any car to actualy turn over.

I think they should if only to stop them showing off!

Agreed! I suspect that very few convertibles are cool, the uncoolest being "tin-tops" with hoods. Anyone remember the ghastly Cavalier convertible?!?


Exceptions are Fiat Barchetta, Alfa and Fiat Spyder, Fiat Barchetta and Mazda MX5, oh and also Honda Beat, and that tiny Diahatsu.

Well I have seen two people wearing them in two days. No! they were not the same people or cars.
