Hi all. Are there any wartime bombsites left in London ? I was thinking of places in deprived areas where for whatvever reason they have never been developed.

Thanks

After a bit of googling i find that both Barts hospital and UCL are just about to start work on two undeveloped bomb sites. Barts is in Charterhouse Square and UCL is just behind their Central London campus - both prime real estate.
Land ownership is a very complex thing and sometimes it is very difficult to actually work out who owns land. Sometimes pieces of land just get past on in huge portfolios and some institutions sometimes dont even realise that they own a bit of land. I doubt this was the case in the two London cases above but sometimes an institution that isnt profit driven such as hospitals and Universities sit on land until they have money to develop them and that could be decades. I doubt there are many bomb sites left in Central London but out in the east end there could be quite a few.
when they developed land on the south-east corner of Ludgate Circus 15 years or so ago, it was said to be the last bombsite. I don't know how this tallies with the sites gary baldy mentions.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but check out http://www.derelictlondon.com/derelict_london_com.htm

There are tonnes of photos of, well derelict London. There's even a WWII bunker. Just scroll down the main page.

this might not be what your thinking of, but close to me, on Iverson Road, Kilburn NW6, a WWII bomb destroyed a row of houses, and there's a playground now but you can still see old kitchen tiles and broken plates and stuff at the back.
