Has anyone ever had a message to say someone wants to add you to their Linkedin connections? I`ve just had such a message from someone who I don`t know (they knew my name) and I`m not on Linkedin. It`s a manager of a pub group. Seems very strange.

Yes, sometimes people give LinkedIn access to their email account (accidentally or on purpose) and LinkedIn then goes through all their contacts and invites them to connect. It's generally a sign of a novice, not something to worry about. Just ignore it.

Thanks Ellipsis. That must be what it is. I`ve just found out he`s the manager of a pub in Surrey that I have emailed a couple of times.
I get about 20 messages a day from facebook asking me to be a friend. I am not a member of FB and don't intend to become one.
As you'll be ignoring it you'll probably get further reminders from LinkedIn. Don't worry, just ignore those too. It's LinkedIn doing that, not the pub manager - he's just been a bin inept, is all.
