Thanx, Ros: up at 5am our time, still furious, I've decided to submit anew too (thus giving way to the vblackmail attempt), but only because my 11thg Edition is falling apart completely, having dropped off my desk dozens of times. Yes, folks, it did rather ruin my birthday in the end, but thought I might as well surrender now just so that all my effort yesterday wasn't completely in vain! Hope I can remember the clued solutions ( I made no copy). And indeed that I can still find the empty grid in my bin! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Many thanks for help towards the relevant pages. I remember using them for another puzzle (not specie) soon after this edition was published. Doc's direction to the list was rather weak and I would not have got to the end of 2141 without help. Reluctant therefore to submit "my" answers this week.

Thanks Daniel. First one I've tried for a while. Had all but 3 of the unclued lights (which are all in the 11th edition) but couldn't see the connection between them. A very unsatisfactory puzzle. Glad I always use pencil!

You can "look inside" Chambers dictionary on Amazon.co.uk and see the relevant pages of "super slang". Just enter "super slang" in the search box on the left and hey presto.
Dictionary's not a bad price on there either (£20.46 with free postage) - put it on your Xmas list!
