Am I correct in believing that a firm/s in America has actually invented a device can be fitted into the electronics of a mobile phone that cuts off the phone whilst the engine of the car is running and that to use the phone you have to stop the engine of the car?
I seemed to remember seeing something about this, a couple of years ago!
Any knowledge?
Cheers

Last year it was reported that a new system puts the brake on mobile phone use while driving...but then SILENCE! http://www.gizmag.com/vehicle-mobile-phone-jammer/23220/ via @gizmag

I have no doubt it is possible, but I can't see it being commercially viable.

Who would pay good money to buy it?

Those who use the phone while driving wouldn't.

Those who don't wouldn't see the need.
Great idea

What if you're a passenger?
Sounds like an urban myth to me.
even if they have it is no use to man nor beast.

even if it did, it would kill phones of pedestrians as cars drive by, then there are passangers! Must be a joke!
