Help with parsing please.
14dn; Quiet Muscovite ready to survey surface of steppe? It may be this barren (9). I can see (sh) and (ru) but don't understand bless.
19ac; He's celebrating gold this weekend; he goes ___ in the row above.(4) This is apparently West. If it means something going backwards in the row above of the crossword, I don't see it. Sorry not to spell it all out, but might have the whole solution here by the end.
Similarly for the scales clue. Something turned up in the previous column of the crossword??
Lastly 22dn. Golden wedding celebration, for example - partial to platinum anniversary? (5) e-e-t. I imagine it is event but how does the second part of the clue fit?

14d) quiet = SH, muscovite ready = RUBLES, surface of steppe = S

'ready' as in money
22d) platinum is the 70th wedding anniversary, so (s)EVENT(y)
p.s. i don't have the crossword to know about any answers in the grid
In the grid, look above the 'T' in west and read right to left.

Red upwards from the fifth letter in 27 across to get the other.

Thanks Bibblebub and Mamyalynne. All very clever.
Russian " ready" money is ruble
I cannot take kudos, I had to ask for help with the Christian names part, tricky and yes clever.
Apologies, I was far too late lol.
