Further to my unfinished message what I meant to say was .When I use a laptop for e mails I open and close the account when I start and finish.
With the tablet I can never close Yahoo or Gmail. When I open the tablet they are immediately on display, can anyone tell me how to close when I finish please
Problem 2 is with photostore that has a horrible "mugshot" of me taken by accident on day one and no way can I find to get rid of it.

I'm old and naive and would welcome any help please

Can't help with the G mail problem I'm afraid. I have a Samsung Tab, opened my Gmail and closed the Tab without leaving Gmail but when I turned the Tab back on I was on the front screen not Gmail so I couldn't recreate your problem.
With regards to the photo do you mean a photo in "Gallery"? If you do then tap on the photo and then tap on the dustbin that appears on top line.
