i've just installed i-tunes onto my p.c,but i cant burn any songs i purchase onto cd,I have got 'record now' installed, but this is not compatable..Is there special i-tunes software available which will enable me to burn onto cd....

to burn songs you have in your iTunes library onto a CD, you need to create a playlist, and then add the songs you want to burn to that playlist. Then, click the playlist, and the top-right icon turns to a burn icon.

Make sure that you have got your preferences set to 'Burn as audio cd'. I've a feeling you can't burn songs purchased through itunes as mp3's straight off.

for some reason it didn't let me finish before it submitted my response....Anyway as I was saying..It comes back 'software not found' after trying clicking on that burn icon...I've even tried reinstalling i-tunes ,but it came back just the same.............

well you can burn the songs as an audio CD, but not as mp3s, no. this is because they are infected with DRM technology.

do not buy from iTunes Music Store.
sorry so, go into edit->preferences->advanced->burning. choose audio CD, to be able to burn your purchased songs as a CD to play on your hifi.
