I used to have long hair and recently got it cut to just below shoulder length. I blow dry and straighten it every other day, but since i got it cut it is really static-y! I'm not doing anything differently so whats wrong with it? And how can i stop it?

Forgot to say, adding water just makes it frizz and I already use conditioner on it

Hi chazza - I wash & condition my hair, then whilst still damp, apply Pantene Pro-V Frizz Controlling Straightening Balm. (I don't have frizzy hair, but it helps protect it when using my hot hair straightener). I thoroughly dry my hair into it's usual tousled shoulder length bob, then use my straightener to make it look sleeker.

After getting out of the swimming pool yesterday, my hair felt 'hard' from the chlorine - (mind you I do dive in & do several lengths) - but after doing the above, it soon felt healthy & shiny again.

Since using Pantene, I haven't had any problems with static hair , although my body sometimes does.

P.S. Soryy if you are already aware chazza - just passing on a tip - you're not supposed to use a hot air straightener on damp hair, else it 'cooks' it - only on thoroughly dry hair.

*Whoops, sorry not soryy!

P.P.S. It also reads: Anti-Frizz, Smooth & Sleek on the Pantene canister, but don't they all!

Good luck in whatever you decide to try.

chazza and smudge both your haircuts sound lovely. Its all long hair these day mostly i see lots of ladies looking as if they need a good haircut i think. One of the best fetures a lady can have is a nice haircut. Even your length chazza well trimmed and straight can look super.Im always interested in haircut stories too from people of haircuts they had in the past at school /teens ect were they good or bad cut too short ect ect..

Thank you silver - that's a very nice compliment. I always like my hair to look nice & it doesn't take much to nip to the hairdressers for a trim every 6/8 weeks.

One thing I can't stand to see, is woman of a certain age, with long grey straggly hair. I've been cutting people's hair for donkeys years & keep my scissors & comb in my handbag - it's so tempting at times......!

You can buy anti static hairbrushes from a hairdressing suppliers or a good salon.Hope this helps
