rover 214 cutting out

hi,my rover 214 is is driving me mad.when i,m using clutch control it often cuts the engine out.on restarting the engine there is no response through the accelerator pedal,the engine just ticks over regardless.after two or three minutes things get back to normal.


can anyone help please thanks.

I had exactly this. Sometimes when slowing down and stopping for a red light the engine would cut out. In order to keep engine going,I had to juggle with the brake and keep pressing down on the accelerator as I de-clutched.,


It was tracked down to the oil being overfilled on a service and the oil breather pipe had allowed excess oil to go into a interconnected sensor pipe to the fuel control unit. This was disconnected and a piece of wire poked through it and it was cured instantly.
