my wife suffers from C.O.P.D. she has now found out that over 20 years ago she worked for a company called C.B.S. (no longer in exhistence)
where she made brake shoes for cars.she worked for 7 years and has recently found out that they may,at that time used asbestos in the linings.where can she get help to find out if her condition may have been caused by such work?or if she can claim a disability benefit.

There are dozens of no win no fee lawyers who specialize in this field . Just Google' Asbestos Claim ' and a long list of them will come up. These lawyers can find out if the company did use asbestos ( they almost certainly did) and if she has a case they will put in a claim. It does not matter if the company no longer exists she can still claim. She can get DLA...

It does not matter if the company no longer exists she can still claim.
She can get DLA (disability living allowance ) if her condition is serious enough , it does not matter how the illness was caused.
Any soliciotr firm is bound to want her to have a medical assessment - almost certainly at her cost, & it is likely to be expensive.

It would probably be better to start by talking to her GP, & NHS consultant if she has one, to find out whether this could be caused by asbestos exposure. I think there may be tests that could be done to help determine this.
