they may not have the power to stop anyone taking photographs, but i think photographers should have the decency to ask permisson

They still had the option to stay away. They picked a row with the wrong one, won't try heaving their weight around quite so readily next time.

Irrespective of what may have instigated the exchange, once the Geniuses in uniform were aware a camera was rolling they should have used their common sense instead of escalating their use of threats and intimidation, and in doing so they would have escaped with their dignity intact, their obvious lack of education and manners would still be known by relatively few people, and they would still be in post.
