Hi. The kids want to go to London to "see the sights". It's my idea of hell, but they really want to go.

SO... Can I please have some ideas of things to do, people to see, places to go.

We don't *have* to stay there, but I figured two days would be better than one, or is one enough?

I was thinking the National History museum but last time I went past there the queues were MASSIVE. Any thoughts/ideas on that one would be great too.

Thanks.

Park out and tube in and since the kids are all reaosnably old if you want to save on accomodation stay in a hostel ( they're not as grotty as they sound they're just like budget hotels if you have a private room for you all) and will work out at about £20 per night per person and lots of central ones too. I was brought up in London for my very early life and we were very...

>>>Not sure about three hours though! Seriously?? :-/

I used to take school groups there. (11 and 12 year olds). Many of the kids thought that the Science Museum would be boring but we always had problems dragging them out! I'd regard two hours as the absolute minimum time to spend in there but don't be surprised when you look at your watch and you realise that you've been there far longer! (I took a 10-year old lad there once and I had to fight to get him out of the place after FIVE hours!)

Five hours??!! Haha. My son and the other two boys will love it, no doubt! I love stuff like that, but just thinking of my poor feet. Best take my walking trainers I think :)

Hahaha! That gave me a chuckle :D

Looks perfect!!
Do buy a travelcard so you can jump on and off ordinary buses - by far the best way of sightseeing. Helpful info at most central London bus-stops too - Ato Z listing of streets, places etc and the number of the bus needed to get there. Dead easy and when you pass somewhere that you think you'd like a closer look at, just hop off, have a look then jump on another bus. Since I've had my bus pass, I've never used the horrid Tube.
