Start Menu/bar Across Bottom Dissapeared

Hi, on a Dell latitude laptop the bar across the bottom that has the start/ shutdown option and other icon like google chrome has gone! No idea how but if anyone can help get it back would be appreciated. Thanks.

Press F11
1. Look for a thin line on one edge of the screen.
2. Right Click on it. The Taskbar should open up.
3. Right click in the Taskbar and select Properties.
4. Uncheck the Auto-Hide the Taskbar checkbox.
5. Check the Keep the Taskbar On top Of Other Windows checkbox.
6. Click OK.
If the above doesn't work, check that the height of the taskbar hasn't accidentally been reduced to zero:

Place your cursor at the very bottom of the screen and see if it changes to a double-headed arrow. If it does, it means that it's resting on the top of the taskbar). Click-and-drag it up to where the top of the taskbar normally is. (Then, to stop it happening again, right-click on the taskbar and select 'Lock taskbar')
