Am trying to find some arthritis proof exercise methods and have been thinking of getting a hula hoop to see if I can do some gentle hula hooping done whilst watching the TV.

Will these help at all, preferably in helping reduce my waist?

I also thought of getting some of those rings you can throw like Frisbees to see if it helps circling them on my arms or feet.

Anyone have any ideas if it will help at all or will just result in me looking a bit daft :)

Hula hooping isn't as gentle as you might think it is, you have to really work quite hard to keep the hoop on your waist.
I'm buying myself a hula hoop, apparently you an whittle your waist down quite quickly, but as daffy says it'll be strenuous. I ordered one from Tosco today, when I get it I'll let you know how knackering it is :)
i have a hula hoop and the gentle exercise is bending down every few seconds picking the bleep bleep thing up lol i use to be good at it 50 years ago .
Same here mallyh, I gave mine away in the end. Couldn't keep it up around my waist no matter what I tried.
Hi Eve,
I was looking for some easy exercise and decided to go for Tai Chi.
You can buya useful book on Amazonfor a fiver - well illustrated and easy to follow - and you can take your time as to when you do these simple exercises.
Feel better already!
I tried this once a good few years ago. I kept it going round my waist, but the next day, I could barely move. It is Not gentle exercise.
