Can anyone help on this one please?

I have to do my Social Club's year end accounts, and I'm not sure how to change the Opening Stock figure to the new Closing Stock one on Sage. Does it prompt me automatically when going through the year end process or do I have to make a couple of journal entries ie out with the old opening stock figure and in with the new closing stock figure. I'm happy about crediting old stock figure and debiting new stock figure....but where do the corresponding entries go?

many thanks

You can do a journal entry and either dr or cr stock depending on the valuation. The opposite posting is to purchases in the nominal so you either increase or decrease the cost of sales.
