What makes you dislike someone most on first impressions?

We all look at people and after a short time of meeting them, we judge them - some we, often irrationally, decide we don't like - others we let get away with all sorts of bad behaviour but still like them - why?

Be honest!

Is it that they SEEM Bossy? Pushy? Hyperactive? Nosy? Argumentative? Opinionated? Their looks? Shiftyness? Untrustworthy? Don't look you in the eye? In a dream world? Flighty? Shady? Domineering? Too talkative? Tactless? B*tchy? Arrogant? False? Too smiley? Stares wide-eyed at you when talking? Fake smile? Body odour? Boring? Moaner? Immature? Their opinions? Sneery? Looks down on other people? Puts foot in it? Too honest? Rambles? Goes of on tangents? Because others appear not to like them and we just follow?.....

Is it about charisma? We all know about the lovable rogue... or the good guy who gets the raw deal... Often they really they don't deserve it if we really think about it?

What is it about them, however minor, that rubs you up the wrong way?

I instantly dislike INSECURE people who judge others for loving themselves and displaying confidence. what's wrong with this anyway? If you don't love yourself first, who else will? it's the problem with the world today. rather than lifting each other up, insecure people always want to bring others down to their mediocre level. kirki, someone who loves him or her self deson;t necessarily think he or she's better than you. that is your own feelings of inadequacy showing. learn to love yourself and you will be more tolerant and accepting of other people - shortcomings and all.

good point bountiful, but i think they meant when confidence becomes smug arrogance. i guess its fine line and sometimes hard for others to tell between the two. you are right though, people do seem to automatically turn on anyone who has any kind of self belief. sad.
