One clue unanswered:

Disease making one keel over (4)

.A.S

Can anyone help?

And while I'm asking - can anyone say why there are so few questions any week about this crossword - is it too easy and noone else needs help, or too hard and noone gets anywhere near (I doubt!) or are IOS readers too busy reading the paper rather than seeking help from their friends in cyberspace? Similar situation with Guardian cryptic.

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time & trouble to answer. Cheers!!

Thanks so much gen2 - I should have looked up YAWS in the dictionary!
I don't think it is too easy - I cannot get 1 down. Member of household staff, she's clean, properly turned out. (9) Is it an anagram of she's clean? By the way, I have done yesterday's Guardian.
The penny has dropped - seneschal! Not a word I use every day, in fact, not a word I have ever used. I have just watched Lewis on tv and it is probably a word Morse would have used.
