Does anyone have one of these? I'm new to MP3 players, and can't get it to work. According to the manual, the switch on the left-hand side should slide to reveal orange to show that it's unlocked; but this doesn't happen. And although it's plugged into the USB port the yellow battery light doesn't seem to be flashing, but it clearly isn't fully charged. And the menu button doesn't change anything. What am I missing, please?

It now looks as though I had the wrong manual on-screen. But I still can't get it to work. even with the correct one (i.e. it's displaying the right knobs etc but still doesn't seem to be charging and I can't change the menu)
Can't recall which one we bought our daughter at Christmas, might have been the 4Gb one, but it's worked fine for her ever since.

Her previous Clip played up from time to time (wouldn't turn on, or her music didn't show up or wouldn't play) and the simplest solution was to reset it. If it's the same as the original Clip, you slide the the switch up and hold it for about 15 seconds to reset it. Have a look under the troubleshooting part of the manual, or search it for reset.

Thanks Huderon. The switch doesn't slide, but the manual I've now found seem to be saying that I can reset by pressing and holding the on/off button. I've tried, but no luck so far. I'll have a look at the troubleshooting section today.
You have to hold it for 10 to 15 seconds for the reset to work = I'd guess that's done so that people can't accidentally reset them

I had been doing that, but thought it hadn't worked. It had.... and I've sorted out almost all its functions now. Many thanks for your advice.
Glad I could be of some help
Just bought a new 4Gb sansa clip to replace the old one, which had defaulted to having all the onscreen display in Arabic! Downloaded the manual and printed out all 26 pages, only to find they were wrong as regards the switch on the left hand side. How many other bits are wrong I don't know. Why cant they at least supply the correct manual online if they can't be bothered to supply a proper printed manual.

By the way the new one enabled me to find out how many times and in which direction to move from the settings menu to arrive at the language choice of English so I can now understand what it is saying to me.
