Is there any way you can get permanent marker out of clothes? Or even fade it a little? I've got a big dot of it on my favourite pants and am gutted. Have tried hairspray and a stain devil so far but hasn't worked.

The clue is in the word permanent...Sorry, try the pen marks on some old cloth and experiment with some different cleaning products, thinking back to my school days, milk was always the remedy for ink stains.

Hope you get your pants cleaned up..

Here's something I just read:

Spray the marker stain with hairspray and then scrub. May need to repeat it.

Try leaving a cottton ball soaked with rubbing alcohol on the shirt, when the ball is dry pick it up, it should have absorbed most or all of the stain.

I know you said you tried hairspray, but it may just need more 'elbow grease'.

Another site says this:

1. Sponge the affected area gently with a small amount of dry-cleaning solvent.

2. Blot with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel.

3. Mix 1 tsp. of a neutral detergent with 1 c. (cup?) lukewarm water. Blot the stain with this solution.

4. Dab with rubbing alcohol and blot.

5. Sponge with clean water and blot again.

I hope one of these will do the trick.

What ever you do don't iron them until the stain is out as the heat will 'set' the stain in.
