One of the worse answers ever on "The Chase The question was who was prime minister of Britain during the second world war. The answer give was Gladstone. He died 16 years before the war started. The answer should have been Asquith and LLoyd George.

are you sure. lol
did you mean WW1?
Tonights chase?
I thought the answer gave was Lloyd George.
There were actually 3, although for most of the war it was Winston Churchill.

Neville Chamberlain was prime minister in 1939 and he was the one who declared war on Germany.
In 1940, Winston Churchill was selected to replace him and was prime minister until the end of the war in Europe.
Before the surrender of Japan in September, 1945, Churchill was already being replaced by Clement Attlee (who he would succeed in 1951
I heard it as WW1
that would make a bit more sense. Lloyd George died aged 82 in 1945.
Gladstone died in 1898. so must have been WW1
Mick it had to be WW1,

At the start of world War I, the Prime Minister was H.H. Asquith.

He was replaced on 7th December 1916 by David Lloyd George who remained Prime Minister until 19th October 1922.

sorry it was ww1 . Funnily enough Lloyd George came up in a question two minutes later which asked who was PM in 1916
did Brad give the answer as Gladstone...
i like the programme, but there are some very dodgy answers given... as to last nights programme, the guy who took the 500quid. The team lost anyway, but would have been really annoyed had that been me and we had won. x
In the final chase the questions for the chaser are ridiculously easy and asked faster.
sometimes, but they don't always get it right, or beat the team. But i do wonder at those who go on the programme, amass a good early score, say 6 grand then take the lowest offer just to get through and join the rest of the team, and then make little or no contribution thereafter, just like the young bloke yesterday.
These are also Repeats.
The contestant was a history teacher! He was quite arrogant as well said Anne was the weakest of the four chasers, she proved him wrong by romping home to win.
i thought that because Paul the Sinha man had only just joined the show.
