Thanks for the answer Chris. The equipment was a present bought off ebay 13 months ago. Tom Tom does not make the RS232 GPS Receiver and so can`t help me. Just looking for a reputable repairer.

Unlike the 'good old days', when your local electronics shop could repair your TV, radio or whatever, many modern electronics products can only be repaired by the manufacturer or their authorised agents. This is because many manufacturers make their own chipsets which they don't supply to other companies.

So, the obvious question has to be "Who's the manufacturer?". (If there's no manufacturer's name, a model number might help). If you've got those details, I might be able to point you in the right direction.
