Trying to remember the name of an american sitcom from the mid 90s about a guy separated from his wife i think it was set in new york his wife was tall ,attractive with long dark hair ,when he spoke you would see a film clip which would show you what he was thinking or what he wanted to say.

Are you thinking of Dream On?

They are repeating it on ITV4 at the moment (nice if you get ITV4).
It was more like late 80's actually.
