We do have Norton antivirus installed, would this pick up spyware? how do I check if there is any on my pc?

It is recommended to have three spyware programs on you're PC. The one's that I use are SpyBot S&D, Spyware Blaster and Ad-Aware SE. They are all available free from this site:
