Just looked out the window of our office and saw the horsedrawn hearse passing on the main road , on it's way to the cemetry ; escorted by 6 motor cycle police .

Earlier this week an employee where i worked had his funeral .
The hearse was routed to pass outside of our office .
Flags on our building were flown at half mast , and colleagues stood outside as a mark of respect as the hearse passed .

How very sad - such is the frailty of mankind .
I dont mind saying that i felt a bit emotional on both occasions .

Terribly sad, your post is very touching, seeing it would have been very emotional. We should all embrace each day, we don't as a rule though :(
It is very sad Baz, I always get emotional when it concerns young ones.
Yes there is something so much more poignant about a young persons death.
I can quite understand a colleague talking about the celebration they had at the death of his grandmother at 103 years
