Can anyone explain why, now when i have fillings they come out after a week or two? when i was a kid i had fillings and they lasted 20 odd years, then they were drilled out to be replaced by "new" fillings that promptly fell out. i go back and they do it again, i now have 4 teeth with holes and have changed dentists. I can;t blame the polish dentists, because one of my dentists was an English lady of some experience. I also don't think its age related as the grandaughter and Her partner have also had the same problem, theirs lasted about a week before falling out, and at a different dentist ( polish again) Won't be long before the teeth have to be pulled if i am not careful.

The old style fillings were usually amalgam which turned out to be poisonous to your system. As you know to fill the tooth correctly the drill has to make channels in the tooth for the filling to adhere. Further drillings to the same filled teeth have to extract even more than before and there will be a limit how much they can remove.

Did any of the dentists know why it happened and did your GD and partner go to the same dentist as you.
The jury is still very much out on the toxicity of amalgam fillings.

I had fillings ( silver coloured) when i was 14. i never had a problem and they never came out, also,I never went back for one of these 6 month checkups, next visit was tooth ache when i was about 40. I must admit that my father said that because we lived in london all londoners should have good teeth because of the the fluoroisation of the water. I just thought that perhaps today its a money making machine for the dentists, keep filling and claiming payment..
annie: your dad was mistaken - only 10% of the UK population receives fluoridated mains water, and Londoners are not amongst them.
it is a bloody money making machine no matter what they use - when I go to my dentist NHS - it is a like a cattle herd - everybody must be very very very punctual and out in a half hour - the dentists are so hyper trying to cram as many patients as they can - as I have been told the dentists here apart from a few whom I don't know - they are bloody barbaric -
