hi smouse, quite hard to describe but here goes.

Q28. earth is written vertically, then H as F e

Q30. NAVY
LAMBS
OOOOOOOO

Q43. Ace of Hearts
Ace of Cubs

Q46. Wok
One
Mr. Blair

Q47. season's greetings
The word WAR is written upsidedown, underneath

Q48. The word SIGH is at an angle, followed by a chess knight

I thought 43 might be Christmas cards, as in No L but not entirely happy. Thanks for the help.

Thanks too crofter, your answer looks good to me.
You could well be correct with Q43 since "no L" will suggest NOEL = the "Christmas" bit!
Q48 is .... Sigh-Leant Knight!
Q28 Earth stood ... Hard as iron!

Q39 has something to do with RUMS = NAVY and LAMBS.

I think it could be "Rumsauce" but the link with OOOOOOOO (oh's giving auce) is a bit weak!

hotrocker Did you ever solve Q46 about the WOK?

Hi crofter, I've gone with PANETTONE as suggested in another thread on this site. Still not happy with it though.
hotrocker Panettone looks fine. Perhaps a little better is the plural, Panettoni. Cheers, crofter
