Hi,I once stayed in the Hotel (D')Amsterdam in the Rue D'Amsterdam. It was up near the Montmarte and very nice, not too pricy.

Don't know if still there, but worth checking on internet.

Try the following website:

Just search on Paris and you can read other people's comments and personal experiences of various hotels. I've just used it very successfully to choose a hotel for a forthcoming trip.

Just back from Paris last weekend. Stayed at the Hotel Champerret Elysees - really nice, clean, larger room than normal for Paris and has friendly helpful staff. Only about 100m away from the metro. Booked through lastminute.com and paid 115 for a double room for two nights. Would definitely stay there again and have no hesitation in recommending it as a good value 3 star hotel.

Hope this helps...Suzanne
