Pistachios are a good source of potassium and they also have heart friendly nutrients like vit. B6, magnesium and copper and are a useful source of antioxidants, including selenium and vitamin E. They are also cholesterol free. As for burning off fat - that comes from the walk to the shop to get them.

They may help to reduce blood cholesterol levels like most type of nut can.

Look at: http://www.pistachios.org/HealthNut/HealthNut.asp and start chomping on your nuts

Sorry, this brought back memories of when my boyfriend asked me to get him some good energy foods he could eat whilst doing a triathlon (bananas, nuts etc) I bought Pistachios thinking I was dead good, but you have to open them, which obviously isn't good whilst riding a bike.
