I am looking for a printer to print a label direct onto the CD. I would be looking at printer 50 at a time. Can anybody recommend a good one

The Canon ip4850 has a good reputation for printing CDs:

However, for really big quantities you'd need the (mega-expensive) printers, using advanced silk-screen technology, that commercial CD manufacturers use.

The Canon iP4950 does an excellent job, at least it does on for me.
