Cleaning a bath in a five star hotel which is closing down the following day. This actually happened.
At a set of roadworks (on a dual carriageway) I saw a man with one of those "Stop/Go" lollipops - with "Go" on both sides!!!!!! Every couple of minutes he would turn it.......
The New Labour Prime Minister, the current one has not yet done anything right, and never will unless he undergoes an egoectomy and a brain transplant. The problem with this latter is finding one to remove in the first place .
doristwonk, that would mean that the person who performs the surgery on him would be doing the stupidest job ever.... removing a brain that ain't there.... ( p.s. loved your answer)
A friends of mine, spent a summer working at the Birds-Eye pea processing factory in Hull. The whole 12 hour shift consisted of sitting next to a grille which all the peas passed over along the conveyor belt. The purpse of the grille was to allow under-sized peas to drop through and be disposed of.

However every 3 or 4 minutes a pea or two would get stuck in the grille. It was my friends job to poke them through the grille with a bamboo stick. And that was the sum total of the job. 12 hours a day poking errant peas through a hole!
Well Headtime, I suggest your friend applies for the soon to become vacant job at No.10 because he/she sounds to have served the ideal apprenticeship to take over. (on second thought he/she might be overqualified!)
