This is a fantastic programme, and I find the penguin/rock cams really funny. What I would like to know is - who is filming the cameras filming the penguins? Can anyone advise please. because if the penguin cams are secret so the birds can't see them, can they see the cameras filming the penguin cams? sorry that sounds confusing, but I expect you know what I mean.

It is really great. I think that penguins are gorgeous. How on earth they survive is a mystery. I hope that baby finds her mother!!

The penguins aren't frightened of mankind in their miudst I think, as long as they don't get too close. Hence, the boulder and dummy cameras.
I am not a bird fan and not a massive nature follower but this programme and Attenborough's Africa have been stellar.

I loved the football and then the aerial shots when that pseudo eagle nicked the camera.....truly brilliant and I bet the cameramen hadn't reckoned on getting shots like those ones.
It said tonight that there are 50 penguincams across the 3 sites, so the cameras are probably filming each other. Brilliant programme.
How about that one in the Antarctic that glides along on the ice......
I missed the first 10 mins or so, and just tuned in when the Emperor Penguins baby chick was frozen and dead, omg cried buckets when the other Emperor came over to the Mum to comfort her.

Laughed though at the other penguins (forgot their names) came home after 2 weeks with the food for their partner and chicks but stopped to have a wash and brush up under the shower trailing down from the rocks. Typical male lol lol

Great series.
One of the best nature programmes I have seen, it held me fast,so sad in parts.
I also wondered about the cameras so perhaps boxtops has the answer.
Did you ever see "March of the Penguins," bundleone? Well worth tracking it down if you haven't.....
